Chekavar, starring Indrajith, is the story of a young police sub-inspector. A young, relegious, no-nonsense police officer is what Kashinathan (Indrajith) is. He, however, does not hesitate when he has to rise to the occassion and save his younger sister.
The movie is not the story of a meek, calm guy turning into a angry, violent, super-strong man after intermission. Kashinathan is calm, but not meek. He might look meek in the eyes of his friends and family, but he is not. Indrajith has understood the character well and has put up a consistent acting performance.The change in emotions does not change the person. Kashinathan's emotions change, his actions change, but he doesn't.
Kalabhavan Mani plays a bad guy-turned-nice guy struggling to find a middle path between the goodness in Kashinathan and the evil in his younger brother ( played by Sreejith Ravi). Suraaj Venjaramoodu has also shown that his acting skills are as good as his skills in comedy.The background music of Chekavar deserves praise.
