The city witnessed yet another Hartal yesterday. The public transport system was non-existent and auto richskaws and taxis too stayed off the roads. The number of private vehicles were higher than one would usually see on a Hartal day. The Kerala Police did chip in to help stranded passengers. The buses or taxis did not resume service after dusk as the Hartal was declared for 24 hours. Most shops remained closed too. However, more people were seen traveling in cars and two-wheelers in the evening.
It is usually a busy evening for employees at the theatres on a Hartal day. However, theatres decided not to open even after dusk this time. Surpirsingly, some parts of the city saw experienced mild traffic jams in the evening.
